Nemesis Elite September 2, 2008 This case is very nice, unlike Mr C Johnson, I find this case is exactly what I needed. little hint, this case comes in different colors with different LED lighting, my case is black with all blue LED lighting. If you want a case with a specific LED color, order it that way and don't make stupid comments about changing the LED lighting, the front lighting is able to be changed simply by pushing a button, and requires little manual labor. This case is not cheaply made and with all the options it comes with, I think it is well worth the price. oh Mr C Johnson, maybe you should email the company that makes the case "NZXT" they would actually be able to help you, because the "XION" company you emailed probably thinks you are as stupid as I do. I bought this case for my first PC build. Besides getting ripped off by Microcenter by paying 89.99 for this case, I am pretty satisfied with this case, however I am sure there is much better out there.
My main complaint about this case is that if you want to change the ugly green LED lights in the front, it is impossible to get two new LEDS back into the top mounting brackets unless they are already prewired. And while its easy to change out the LEDs, your front lights won't be as nearly as bright as it originally was because they don't stay in the mounting brackets which probally affects how the light reflects off of the mirror paper. In addition to this, the molex connector that connects the front LEDS to the power supply, completely broke off in my case, and I didn't even touch it while changing out the LEDS! The result is that NO lights worked in the front except for the HD LED that connects to the mobo. I ended up completely removing the clear plastic from the front of the case and created my own front lighting by embedding two circular UV tubes inside the front panel and running UV wires around the crevices. It looks a lot better than it did before.
This case is built very cheaply and the color scheme of the lighting is just awful, neon green is very hard on the eyes and clashes tremendously with the blue light coming out of the PSU. I changed all the lighting on the CASE to blue with a red side fan. At least now I can look at the PC without wanting to vomit.
Besides what I mentioned earlier the case is just OK but it does come with two FANS and a 450W PSU. As you expect the PSU is a no-name brand, but so far it hasn't given me any problems eventhough I expect it to be dead before the years out. One good thing about this case is that it is very easy to get to everything and it uses thumbscrews for added convienence. It also includes bunches of screws for installing your drives. And if you perfer not to use screws for your CD-ROM drives you can attach the sliding rails instead (also included).
Operational wise, this case could use better ventilation. My PC and NB temps idle at 40C, which is not bad but could be a lot better. When I have the side cover off, my temps drop drastically to the low 30s. When I have the side cover off and also blow my floor fan in the case, my temps drop in the 20s. The fan is too loud though so I just have to deal with idle temps at 40 which is not bad, but could be a lot better.
with that being said, I wish I would have researched more and gotten a case that I liked better than this one. Its an OK case but thats about it. Plus XION customer service sucks, I emailed them over 2 weeks ago asking for a replacement of the wire that broke in the case and I haven't heard from them at all.
Eventhough it is not a bad case, I can't recommend it because there is so much better out there at the the same price.
