3 out of 5 stars Ok for the price   February 20, 2008

I bought the 24X50 Galileo Binos....I must say that my first impression was great. I took them outside as soon as the UPS guy dropped em' off and WOW at the daytime color. Of course I bought bino's this strong to look at things farther away, as well as see thing closer in more detail...mainly star-gazing. Tonight the moon was almost full so I thought I would try them out. As it turns out somethings I was pleased with while others left me wanting more. As for the focus, the knobs are really tight and difficult to use. I also felt the eyepiece adjustment should be on the left eye not the right since most of us are right eye strong. While observing objects close to mid zoom everything was nice, and good color presented itself. As I focused even closer though, the fine focus adjust became more difficult to use and the picture was much more out of focus. I set the specs on my car to make sure the picture problem wasn't a user error. Nope, I still saw double no matter how well I adjusted the focus, and the individual eyepiece needed adjusting at every focal length. I own a cheep pair of 7-15X25 for quick gazing and find them much easier to use. None the less, if I keep them between 15-18X things seems to be pretty nice.

Another person said there was a lose piece on the specs when the arrived...I have the same issue. They seem like they might actually fall apart. But I m difficult and hard to please so I am sure I am being overly critical. I am buying some nikon specs. I have looked through them already and have found that no one touches the color produced by their rproducts...but they cost much more.

3 out of 5 stars an pretty good binocular   August 16, 2007
Found a loose fitting on one of the eye pieces. Otherwise ok for the price. Beautifully collimated, bright and clear. (Have since tried ordering other binoculars, and found them impossibly collimated: I didn't realize how hard it is to get a set of inexpensive binoculars that work properly.)

5 out of 5 stars Excellent choice!   October 6, 2005

The binocular has a great field of vision with the option for high powered magnification or moderate magnification. It is rare to find binoculars that will do all of this. Tripod is needed for clear views with the higher magnifications but hand held viewing is fine for the lower powers.
