Product Description MACE CAM56FH, VANDAL PROOF OUTDOOR COLOR DOME CAMERA
Amazon.com Product Description The Mace CAM56FH Vandal Proof Color Dome Camera is a compact, cost-effective solution for most any remote monitoring needs. Designed to be both long-lasting and proof against vandalism, the Mace CAM56FH has an extremely high resolution, making it an ideal solution for security surveillance of an area in your home or business, especially when intentional tampering is a concern. This dome camera utilizes a 0.33-inch color CCD (charge-coupled device) image sensor, with 297,000 effective pixels. The included standard 3.6-millimeter lens is easily interchangeable with lenses up to 12-millimeters. The Mace CAM56FH has an excellent resolution of 460 horizontal TVL (TV lines), and achieves a S/N (signal-to-noise) ratio of 45 dB or better. This unit is decent in low-light with a minimum illumination of one Lux in color, and operates on the NTSC signal format. This unit uses a standard composite video output, runs on 12-volts of DC power, and can operate in temperatures as low as zero degrees Celsius. The CAM56FH comes complete with a built-in automatic electronic shutter with speeds ranging from 1/50 to 1/100,000 of a second. Technical Features: - S/N ratio: better than 45 dB
- Sensitivity: 1 Lux in color
- Horizontal resolution: 460 TVL
- Operating temperatures: down to 0 degrees Celsius
- Dimensions: 10.5 cm in diameter and 6.5 cm in depth
The Mace CAM56FH camera is a reliable and high-quality addition to any surveillance system. This camera uses the standard CS/C mount for interchangeable lenses, and is compatible with a wide variety of lens sizes. Users should note that the CCD sensor may become permanently damaged if exposed to long hours of direct sunlight or halogen light, so the camera should not be mounted or pointed directly at the sun or other bright-light sources. About Surveillance Camera Technical Features Lux rating is the measurement used to indicate how sensitive a camera is to light, and stands for the level of light reflected off a piece of paper by a candle from one meter away. Thus a sensitivity of three Lux would mean a camera could generate an acceptable picture of a piece-of-paper-sized object that was illuminated by the equivalent of three candles from one meter away. The lower the Lux level, the better the camera's ability to work in low-light conditions. The camera's resolution should be greater than or equal to the resolution supported by the system's recorder or monitor. The S/N, or signal to noise ratio, is an important measure of a camera's quality. A poor camera, low-light conditions or poor wiring causes "noise" which consumes processing power and disk space. A camera with a wide dynamic range is ideal, especially for recording areas in which both indoor and outdoor light are present. CCD (charge-coupled device) sensors provide high-quality images that are less susceptible to noise. CMOS (complimentary metal-oxide semiconductor) sensors offer less image quality, but are usually more cost-effective and energy efficient. About Dome Cameras A dome camera is one of the most common indoor security camera styles. Mounted on the ceiling, and often designed to be tamper resistant, dome cameras are designed to be visually appealing and more secure than other types of security cameras. A true dome camera enables a continuous 360-degree pan and 90-degree tilt operation, providing for extensive room coverage. One disadvantage of dome cameras is that they usually are not suitable for low-light conditions and must be used in well-lit areas.
